Commentary Don Quixote, dying in bed, recovers his sanity to die Christianly (crucifix on the bed).
Around him, the niece, Sancho, the priest, barber (foreground), Sansón Carrasco and housekeeper (background).
Most of the faces are hidden (except housekeeper's, very remarkable), but the scene is full of drama.
Notes 1 - Same illustration first appeared in Tours: A. Mame, 1848.
2 - Title supplied after 1848 edition.
