Commentary At the courtyard inn, don Quixote holds the barber basin (Mambrino's helmet) while Sancho and the two barbers argue about the basin and the packsaddle.
Episode previously represented in different moments: fight (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657) or dialogue (London: Tonson, 1738); now, depicted also during the dialogue.
On the left, don Fernando and the priest talking and laughing.
In the background, several figures.
Plate of great quality; good drawing, composition, engraving and details (don Quixote's armour, don Fernando's clothes, inn...).
Remarkable realism.
Notes 1 - Same plate first used for Madrid: Ibarra, 1780.
