Commentary | The goatherd Eugenio arrives looking for his lost goat.
The group of don Quixote, canon of Toledo, priest, barber, Sancho and officers of justice invite him to eat; "tomad este bocado, y bebed una vez, con que templaréis la cólera, y en tanto descansará la cabra" (50:1). Bucolic scene. In the background, the oxcart. Drawing and engraving are not very good; they lack quality in faces (priest, canon...) and realism. It has been chosen a kind moment instead of the fight that follows. |
