Commentary In the foreground, don Quixote is served by some Duchess' maidens; "salió a la gran sala, adonde halló a las doncellas puestas en ala tanto a una parte como a otra, y todas con aderezo de darle aguamanos" (31:2).
In the background, through a door, the Duke, the Duchess and the ecclesiastic waiting don Quixote for eating.
One of the best illustrations of the whole edition; plate of remarkable quality; figures of great beauty; excellent drawing, engraving and shading.
Notes 1 - Same plate first used for Madrid: Ibarra, 1780.
2 - Placed f.p. 194, chapter 32:2, according to the "COLOCACION DE LAS LÁMINAS", but the illustration refers to chapter 31:2.
