Commentary | The Duchess' page, led by Sanchica, arrives to Teresa Panza's house.
Accurate to Cervantes' text, Teresa was spinning a tow ball and Sanchica appears barefoot. Original choice, not the usual image of the page already knelt before Teresa Panza. Good drawing and engraving despite some faults (notice the disproportion of the horse); well-detailed figures and austere setting. |
