Commentary | The innkeeper Juan Palomeque seizing don Quixote's arm and prepared to hit him beacuse don Quixote was attacking some wineskins with his sword; accurate to Cervantes' text, he is asleep and with his arm wrapped in a blanket.
Also the priest, the barber (holding a bucket of water to awake don Quixote), Cardenio, Dorotea and Sancho. The main figures (don Quixote and innkeeper) have been drawn and engraved quite well; the others are less remarkable (notice Cardenio's disproportionate arms). |
Notes | 1 - Río y Rico reads the engraver's signature as "Cabot", but it should be read as "Caba". |
