Commentary | Well-known scene; resolved according a composition used since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657); in the foreground, Sancho's blanketing, while, in the background, don Quixote observes him from behind the inn wall.
The greatest interest of this illustration is the variety of popular Spanish clothes; the scene results picturesque and folkloristic. |
