Commentary Pedro Alonso places don Quixote on his mule and takes him and Rocinante, carrying don Quixote's arms (the lance should appear broken), back home.
Well-known scene, but resolved with an original composition; the figures move from foreground to background, where there's a view of don Quixote's village.
Remarkable image of don Quixote, comically-placed; good illustration.
Notes 1 - B/w illustrations are signed not only by the painter (AW), but also by the photographer/technician; however, his signature has not been identified; it is formed by the initials superimposed (A? C? T? P?) and the reference "ph." (photographer or photographed).
