Commentary | In the foreground, don Quixote and Rocinante are hit and raised by the windmill sail when don Quixote tries to attack it.
In the background, Sancho with his donkey observes the scene frightened. Well-known scene and composition; it is almost Doré's composition (Paris: Hachette, 1863) inverted. Good illustration. |
