Commentary In the Duke's palace, don Quixote and Sancho mounted on Clavileño, both blindfolded and don Quixote turning the peg on Clavileño's forehead to make the wooden horse "fly".
On the right, a servant ready to simulate its flight with a pair of bellows.
In the background, the Duke, Duchess and dueñas observing the scene.
Well-known scene, but good illustration; notice Sancho's figure embracing don Quixote, specially remarkable.
Notes 1 - B/w illustrations are signed not only by the painter (AW), but also by the photographer/technician; however, his signature has not been identified; it is formed by the initials superimposed (A? C? T? P?) and the reference "ph." (photographer or photographed).
