Commentary | Original, secondary and tender scene; friendship between Rocinante and the donkey.
In the background, don Quixote and Sancho resting at the foot of a tree. The illustration is not totally accurate; Cervantes describes Rocinante leaning its head on the donkey. Excellent representation of light effects, colors and landscape. Remarkable composition, drawing and coloring. |
Notes | 1 - Carbonero made an oil painting about this episode, being awarded a Great Diploma of Honor at the Exhibition of Berlin (1891). |
