Commentary "... lifted up his pasteboard vizor...".
Don Quixote, mounted on Rocinante, tries to reassure the two party girls, scared of him; notice the gestures and expressions of all the figures, very remarkable.
Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period setting, clothes and details; realistic and picturesque.
Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light. 
Notes 1 - The original drawing (Chinese ink and gouache white) was finished in 1898 in Sevilla and presented at the Exposition of Fine Arts of Barcelona (1898).
