Commentary | "The girls, unaccustomed to such rethorical flourishes:...".
Don Quixote introduces himself to the party girls; also in the scene a groom and some muleteers; notice their gestures and expressions; the figure of the groom is specially remarkable. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period setting, clothes and details; realistic and picturesque. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light. |
