Commentary | "... take it, mistress housekeeper; open the window and throw it into the yard,...".
The priest, barber, housekeeper and niece during the scrutiny of don Quixote's library; the barber asks the housekeeper to open a window and begin to throw some of the chivalry books through it into the yard. Notice the remarkable figure of the barber, resolved with great naturalism. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period setting, clothes and details; realistic and picturesque. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light. |
