Commentary | "... they gave him something to eat,".
The housekeeper and the niece give to don Quixote, in bed, something to eat, while, aside, the priest and the barber talk about don Quixote's madness; notice their gestures. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period setting, clothes and details; realistic and picturesque. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light. |
