	Commentary	"«You will see presently», said Agrajes, replied Don Quijote, and throwing his lance,...". Don Quixote, mounted on Rocinante, prepares to fight against the Biscayan, who takes a cushion from the carriage to protect himself. Other squires, grooms and the Basque ladies observe the scene. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period clothes and details; realistic and picturesque. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light and shadow with impressionist effects.
	Notes	1 – Reproduction of the original sketch (Chinese ink and gouache white). Jiménez Aranda meant to paint a more-finished drawing after this sketch using natural sceneries and real models, but he died before completing the project. 2 - "... composiciones muy movidas y de muchas figuras de hombres y caballos: figuras de elegante silueta, llenas de intención y relieve" (José Ramón Mélida: “Don José Jiménez Aranda y su "Quijote"", vol.
