Different scenes about the knight of the lake's tale as told by don Quixote: the knight throwing himself into a lake full of monsters and beasts; the knight arrives to a forest, then is welcome by some damsels to a castle and served by them. Original, notable and carefully-done narrative composition. Good light and shadow effects. |
Notes | 1 – After José Jiménez Aranda’s death, his brother, Luis Jiménez Aranda, continued illustrating Don Quixote (part I) following a very similar realistic/picturesque style as the one used by his brother, but, sometimes, his figures lack naturalism. |
