Commentary | Don Quixote dead in his bed; at the foot of the bed, the priest, the barber, Sancho, the housekeeper, the niece and Sansón Carrasco.
Very remarkable figures, resolved with Sorolla's masterly impressionist style; notice their expressions, use of light and shadow, white and black... Original composition; the upper half of the illustration with the main scene; the lower half with the epitaph written by Sansón Carrasco as if it was don Quixote's gravestone. Excellent illustration to complete this visual Don Quixote. |
