Commentary A scene of great drama.
This edition inaugurates the interest in the interpolated novels.
Camila pretends to stab herself (it should be in the left shoulder) and Lotario and Leonela try to stop her; Anselmo, her husband, is hidden behind a tapestry (he should remain behind the tapestry during the whole scene).
Theatrical and dramatic scene; well-resolved movement and commotion.
Well-detailed and rich setting; drawing and engraving are excellent.
Notes 1 - Same plate used for London: Tonson, 1738.
