Commentary | During Grisóstomo's burial, the shepherdess Marcela appears to defend herself from Ambrosio's accusations; Ambrosio (beside Vivaldo, who still holds Grisóstomo's song) points to her accusing her of having caused Grisóstomo's death; don Quixote, Sancho, shepherds and goatherds witness the scene.
Well-known scene. Remarkable variety of figures and gestures; good composition too, but lightly theatrical. |
Notes | 1 - Compare with Pahissa's illustration for Barcelona: Miguel Seguí, 1898. |
