Commentary At the inn, Zoraida and the captive introduce themselves before don Quixote, don Fernando, Cardenio, Dorotea, Luscinda and the barber.
Liking for scenes with dialogs; Chodowiecki is interested in the variety of characters, faces, clothes... (see don Quixote and captive's faces).
Zoraida appears as a black woman; not accurate.
Intimate scene; some characters with their backs turned on the viewer.
Notes 1 - Plate dated in 1779.
2 - Same plate first engraved for Leipzig: Caspar Fritsch, 1780-81.
