Commentary | Don Quixote lying dead in his bed, lighted by two large wax tapers; Sancho, knelt beside him, appears weeping.
The scene has been resolved with excessive drama; too much theatrical (the tapers, the bed as a catafalque...). Remarkable sketching style with expressionist effect. Good use of black and white contrast. |
