Commentary References from the dialogue between don Quixote and Sancho (from left to right and from top to bottom): Sancho must be clean; he must not wear ungirt or loose, for a disordered attire is a sign of an unstable mind; liveries for his servants; he must not eat garlic or onions, lest they find out his boorish origin by the smell (notice the gestures of the women); he must not drink or eat too much; how he must ride a horse; and his sleep must be moderate.
Well-resolved narrative composition and original caricature style.
Notes 1 - Hand-colored using stencils; "coloriƩs au pochoir dans les ateliers de D. Jacomet et Cie.".
