Commentary | In Sierra Morena, Dorotea, in man clothes, is surprised by the priest, barber and Cardenio while she is washing her feet into a stream.
The priest, barber and Cardenio have not been represented; they are in the place of the viewer, so Dorotea is looking directly at the viewer/reader. Image of great beauty; very remarkable illustration. Good drawing and pleasant coloring; in keeping with an edition for children. |
