Commentary | At the entry of Barcelona, some children put under the tails of Rocinante and Sancho's donkey a handful of nettles; the animals begin to kick and don Quixote and Sancho fall to the ground; also in the scene don Antonio Moreno on horseback.
Vierge's style is masterly; detailed and real figures and well-resolved movements; scene with good action. Usual in Vierge's illustrations, some element in black creates a worth noting contrast. His short and fine drawing lines imitate etching. |
