Commentary Don Quixote and Sancho are abducted by several men armed with lances (Duke's servants); every time that don Quixote or Sancho try to speak, the men order them to keep quiet (see gestures).
Composition divided in two groups: in the foreground, don Quixote and several men; in the background, Sancho and others.
Drawing and engraving are quite remarkable; some figures have been resolved with skillful engraving; notice don Quixote's sad expression.
Notes 1 – Plate newly engraved in a reduced and turned format by Van der Gucht after his own plate with Vanderbank’s design first engraved for London: Tonson, 1738.
