Commentary | Don Quixote stays still before the cage of a lion ready to fight against it, but the animal remains into its cage although the lion keeper has opened it.
In the background, Sancho, don Diego de Miranda and the carter running away. Well-known scene, resolved with little novelty. Drawing and engraving are very remarkable; good and detailed illustration. |
Notes | 1 - Process reproduction of Pinelli's etching for Roma: R. Gentilucci, 1833-34.
2 - Wrongly-placed in chapter 26:2. |
