Commentary | All the characters appear in the foreground, as in a theatrical performance. The Knight of the White Moon (Sansón Carrasco) grasps his lance against don Quixote, defeated, while Sancho, don Antonio and the Viceroy arrive to stop him
Not accurate setting (it should be Barcelona's shore). Drawing and engraving are acceptable; good decorative effect as a whole. |
Notes | Accompanied by the poem:
"Don Quixote's friend, Carasco, as a Knight Disguis'd attacks him, and subdues in fight. Thro Kindness bent in search of him to roam, To cure his follies, and allure him home". |
