Commentary | In the foreground: (left) the barber, Sansón Carrasco and the priest; (right) the niece, the housekeeper and Sancho Panza, who looks at the viewer. In the background (center): don Quixote lying dead in his bed.
Remarkable illustration; the composition is simple, as a theatrical performance, but effective. Not too dramatic. This is one of the first representations of don Quixote's death. Well-detailed setting, but not Spanish. |
