Commentary Don Quixote mounted on Rocinante and armed with his lance in a landscape.
Image of remarkable personal style influenced by some of the main European Art movements during the 1930s, as late Expressionism and Surrealism; the image loses realism to become more expressive, but also oniric, evocative and suggestive (the landscape is real or imagined? some mountains or a castle? sad and dark atmosphere).
Notes 1 - The image is placed in chapter 3:1, but it does not seem to refer to it explicitly.
