Commentary | Don Quixote dialogues with the members of the braying mayors squadron; Sancho remains in the background.
Scene represented in England since Vanderbank (London: Tonson, 1738; in this case, Sancho appears braying). Illustration in keeping with 18th century English liking for scenes about dialogue, without violence. As a whole, drawing and engraving are good, but the inking and printing process has been deficient. |
