| Commentary | At night, don Quixote and doña Rodríguez frighten each other.
Accurate to Cervantes' text, don Quixote appears covered with a blanket and with his face bandaged; and doña Rodríguez wearing spectacles and holding a candle. Well-known scene, but resolved with great originality and remarkable sense of humor. Excellent use of woodcut to create highly-effective white and black contrasts. Clean drawing and very expressive figures. |
