Commentary The landlady, her daughter and Maritornes pretend to be very afflicted when don Quixote leaves the inn "enchanted" in a cage on an oxcart.
Don Quixote's image, sticking his head out through the cage bars, is quite comical.
Both oxen are not represented with realism.
