Commentary | Reference to Eugenio's tale; Eugenio and Anselmo decide to leave their village and become shepherds; "Finalmente, Anselmo y yo nos concertamos de dejar el aldea y venirnos a este valle, donde él, apacentando una gran cantidad de ovejas suyas proprias, y yo un numeroso rebaño de cabras, también mías, pasamos la vida entre los árboles" (51:1).
