Commentary Don Quixote, on the oxcart, Sancho, the barber and the priest arrive to their village.
Johannot, despite the small size of the vignette, has created a wide composition where two elements stand up: first, the crowd of people welcoming the priest, the barber and Sancho, and second, don Quixote's face, alone, sticking out through the cage bars (specially comical).
Notes 1 - Reprint of Johannot's illustration for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
