Commentary | Sancho interrupts the conversation among don Quixote, the Duke and Duchess begging for the Duchess' help (because some servants want to wash his beard with dishwater; not represented); then, he kneels down before her and offers her his service.
The image is quite theatrical (with a great curtain in the background), but the figures are very remarkable, detailed and carefully drawn and engraved (especially the Duke and Duchess). |
