Commentary Don Quixote and Sancho talk about leaving his armor and arms hung on a tree as as trophy with an inscription: "Let none presume these arms to move / Who Roland's fury dare not prove". 
Notes 1 - Reprint of Johannot's illustration for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
2 - Viardot's translation of the inscription: "Quel nul de les toucher ne soit si téméraire, S'il ne veut de Roland affronter la colère".
3 - Andrew, Best & Leloir's monogram (formed by "A", "B" and "L") can be mistaken with Alexandre-Nicolas Belhatte's ("A" and "B"). In this case, it looks more like the first one.
