Commentary | Don Quixote explains Sancho the cause of the battle between Alifanfarón and Pentapolín, and Sancho offers himself to help Pentapolín's army.
Original choice; it is not the traditionally represented later scene (don Quixote attacking the flock of sheeps). Don Quixote and Sancho are well drawn and engraved; the flock of sheep (dust cloud) and Rocinante are less defined. Small headpiece excellently resolved. |
Notes | It includes reference "P. 58".
Don Quixote and Sancho's gestures could be interpreted according to p. 63 (of this edition), when Sancho tries to explain don Quixote that these are not two armies, but a flock of sheep. |
