Commentary | Don Quixote reprimands Sancho for having lie about Micomicona (Dorotea) and the giant's head (wineskins). Accurate to Cervantes' text: "Don Quixote se volvió a Sancho, y con muestras de mucho enojo le dijo: ahora te digo, sanchuelo, que eres el mayor bellacuelo que hay en España" (37:1). On the right, don Fernando, Dorotea and Luscinda talk.
Well represented action through gestures: don Quixote turns towards Sancho, frightening him; theatrical gestures. Excellent burin engraving over etching; Dorotea's dress is remarkable. |
