Commentary | Light change in comparison with previous representations of this episode (don Quixote is not still hanged either the four travelers have arrived); accurate to Cervantes' text, don Quixote (over a skinny Rocinante) says to Maritornes (prepared with a rope): "... tomad esa mano, digo, a quien no ha tocado otra mujer alguna, ni aun la de aquella que tiene entera posesion de todo mi cuerpo" (43:1).
Remarkable picturesque inn setting. Highly detailed engraving (see inn architecture texture; fine and sinuous etching lines). |
Notes | It includes reference "P. 149". |
