Commentary Sancho accepts to give himself lashes for money; "Prosigue, Sancho amigo, le dijo Don Quixote, que yo doblo la parada del precio. De ese modo, dijo Sancho, a la mano de Dios, y lluevan azotes" (71:2).
Accurate details: don Quixote, already disarmed, counts Sancho's lashes with his rosary.
The figure of Sancho whipping himself is badly resolved.
