Commentary | Teresa asks a young acolyte, who was a penman, to write her letters for Sancho and the Duchess and she gives him a pair of eggs and a cake (notice the detail).
In the illustration, a monk is represented (not a young acolyte or altar boy; "monacillo" in Cervantes' original text) because in the French translation it is said "moinillon" (monk). Good ornamental drawing; illustration resolved, as most of the tailpieces, with a triangular format. |
