| Commentary | Well-known scene, but the composition is of great novelty. In the foreground, Sancho, with his back turned on the viewer and almost as a shadow, gesticulates to stop don Quixote; in the background, don Quixote attacking the sheep and surrounded by shepherds prepared to stone him.
