Commentary | This is one of the best known and most represented episodes; in the foreground, don Quixote prepares to fight with the lion, which remains asleep into the cage; the lion keeper is over the cage and, in the background, Sancho, the carter and don Diego flee away.
This print is remarkable because of its excellent engraving (highly-detailed engraving in don Quixote's armor, clouds...). |
