Commentary | Well-known scene since Vanderbank (London: Tonson, 1738), whose composition has been almost copied here.
The page, knelt before Teresa Panza (with a tow ball that she had been spinning), hands Sancho's letter to her. Also Sanchica, barefoot accurate to Cervantes' text. Drawing and engraving are excellent (see Teresa and the page's faces). |
