Commentary | Westall has not chosen the later fight, but this moment of dialog, when don Quixote tries to make peace between Sancho and the barber, who were fighting for the packsaddle; don Quixote holds the basin.
From the whole group, don Quixote's figure is quite remarkable, strong, firm and dignified (see the good engraving in his face). Surrounding them, from left to right, don Fernando and his companions, the barber and the priest. |
