Commentary Well-known scene since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657); in the foreground, in Barcelona beach, don Quixote is defeated by the Knight of the White Moon (Sanson Carrasco); in the background, don Antonio, the Viceroy, Sancho and others observe them; Sancho's sad figure is remarkable.
Good different use of wood engraving for foreground figures or background.
