Illustrations: The complete set consists of 25 illustrations designed by Charles-Antoine Coypel and engraved by Louis Surugue père (8), Charles-Nicolas Cochin père (3), François Joullain (3), Nicolas-Henri Tardieu (2), Simon-François Ravenet (1), Nicolas Charles de Silvestre (1), Jean-Baptiste Haussard (1), Nicolas-Dauphin de Beauvais (2), François de Poilly le Jeune (1), Louise-Magdeleine Horthemels (2) y Bernard Lépicié (1). Cushing has 12 of them. Six of these engravings are included in Cushing's extra illustrated copy of John Bowle's edition of the Quixote (London, 1781).
Description: Originally done as cartoons for tapestries. They were later engraved and published in series in Paris since 1723 and sold separately. Description: This edition appeared later in the set published in the La Haye 1746 edition by Pierre de Hondt. It is often included in the s1725 English set of Coypel's designs produced by van der Gutch as illustration number 25, as in Cushing´s copy, and also in the copy at the British Library.
