Description: This is the fourth RAE edition. New revised edition that follows the text from the Madrid 1608 edition. Includes an analysis by V. de los Ríos, indicating textual variants. Boxed. This is the first edition using "J" instead of "X" for 'Quijote'. Copies with five volumes (Vida de Cervantes, by Navarrete) include one Cervantes portrait engraved by Ametller.

Ashbee refers to one portrait + 16 engravings (one more after José del Castillo engraved by Masferrer in volume I) + one map. "The engraving is not bad, nor are the designs turned, although the architectural and other details are frequently modified" (Ashbee). Río y Rico refers to 16 illustrations only.
Description: Text of RAE Madrid 1780 edition with Pellicer's notes. It is nicely printed with beautiful types. Four volumes in two. In 1834 vol. V (Vida de Cervantes by Navarrete), and in 1835 vol. VI (Nuevas anotaciones) were added, also at the Cushing.
