Most after Bouttats-Savery-Clouzier and Coypel, with inscriptions in French and Spanish.

Description: First edition. The dedication is written by Samuel Johnson. Following Don Quixote's example, Arabella goes mad reading translations of French romances. After many adventures, she finds a suitor who, recognizing her delusions, dresses up in a plate of armor to woo her. Cushing has volume I, volume II wanting.

Illustrations: Extra-illustrated copy. The original edition only has one illustrated title page designed and engraved by C. F. Boetius (first appeared in Leipzig: Caspar Fritsch, 1734). Cushing's copy lacks title page in volume I. In volume II, the seven illustrations designed by Daniel-Nicolas Chodowiecki and engraved by Daniel Berger have been included taken from the German edition of the Calender (Berlin: 1771). Four illustrations about Cervantes' Don Quixote and three about Filleau de Saint-Martin/Challe's Continuation.
Description: This is a reprint of the 1734 Leipzig edition.

I - IV about Cervantes' Don Quixote, five in vol. V are about Saint-Martin's Continuation, and three in vol. VI are about Robert Challe's Continuation. Description: Volumes individually boxed and rebound 19th c. leather, with ex-libris of Biblioteca de Feliciano Ramírez de Arellano, Marquis of Fuensanta del Valle and Angel Uriarte. Illustrations: Contains 28 illustrations by Francis Hayman (one frontis + 27 chapter illustrations) engraved by Charles Grignion (12), Simon François Ravenet (8), Gérard Scotin (6), and Johann Sebastien Müller (2), after a special series of drawings now in the print collection of the British Museum. The same drawings were newly-engraved by G. V. Neist in a smaller format for the second edition (1761), third (1765), fourth (1770), fifth (1782) editions, and for London: W. Longman, 1786. Givanel only mentions 25 illustrations.
Description: First edition of Tobias Smollett´s translation. A splendid edition, with armorial ex libris.

Also with ornamental initials, head and tailpieces. Ashbee only refers to 28 copper plates.

Description: It follows the 1750 edition by the same publisher (with same illustrations but engraved by Demeuse) and the Amsterdam 1735 edition. Cushing's copy in 4 vols. In the copies with six volumes, volumes V and VI include eight illustrations about Saint-Martin and Challe's Continuation.

Illustrations: Contains 43 unsigned illustrations, the same wooden blocks first cut for Barcelona: Juan Jolis, 1755, copied after Madrid: Antonio Sanz, 1735. There are really 38: five are repeated twice for different episodes. Most of them after Diego de Obregón's illustrations (Madrid: A. García de la Iglesia, 1674). They follow the tradition of Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657) and Bouttats (Amberes: Verdussen, 1672-73).
Description: This is a reprint of the Barcelona 1755 edition, also by Jolis. The text is after the Bruselas 1662 edition.
